Talib Kweli Responds to Affair Rumors!

Early today mediatakeout released a story claiming Talib Kweli was having an affair.

"Shame shame shame . . . MediaTakeOut.com learned that there's some chick on Twitter claiming that she had an AFFAIR with rapper Talib Kweli. And the woman, who met Talib at a conference this Spring reportedly has proof.

Below are emails and supposed hotel and airline receipts that document their rendezvous.

Talib . . . say it AIN'T SO!!!
"

Talib responded on his blog  explaining the situation

Wow I did not know I was famous enough to get the "scandal" treatment,
but since I am deemed worthy of gossip, let me separate fact from
fiction. I am married to DJ Eque as of May 2009. She is the love of my life.
I am not a perfect man, but I am working on myself, as I hope everyone
is. I am working on being a good husband. I know I can be.

Early last year I met a female "blogger" online, and
established an email relationship. When the relationship went from
friendship to flirting, I ended it. This "person" asked me later in the
year if we could still be friends, I said no problem. She came to a
show and we hung out. I did not sleep with with this person at all.
Nothing to clean up here. If I did then that would be the story instead
of random emails and a hotel bill with my name on it.

I feel sorry for this person, and pray for anyone who must tear down others
to make themselves feel better. The true motivation for her "expose" on me
is because I was forced to ignore her. I realized even a friendship with
her was out of line and I cut her off. This is her only way for to get
my attention. Sad really.
But the saddest part is the embarrassment this causes my family. My
wife, her daughter, my children, do not deserve to have to deal with
this nonsense. I must apologize to them publicly for even associating
myself with people so wack. It is my responsibility to handle business
properly, not just for my sake but for my family now as well.
I owe my friends and fans and apology for distracting you all with
this nonsense.

I want to thank MediaTakeOut.com for deeming me worthy of such
coverage. Way to go. Now since you using my good name to draw traffic
to your site, make sure you promote my album with Hi Tek, Revolutions
Per Minute, when it drops in March. Matter fact, you can throw the
mixtape we did with Statik Selektah up right now, it's available right
on the main page of my site, www.yearoftheblacksmith.com.
To everyone else, thanks for the constant support. This is but a minor
speedbump....even that would be giving it too much credit...one

Well Said.
