Mary J Blige To Star As Nina Simone In New Biopic

R&B songstress Mary J. Blige will soon have to prepare for her biggest acting role yet. Variety.com reports that the Yonkers-born singer has been casted for the role of singer and civil rights activist Nina Simone for an upcoming biopic currently entitled Nina. Nina will focus on the relationship between Simone and her assistant Clifton Henderson. Filming for the movie is expected to begin in September in France. As far as acting, Blige has made appearances on “The Ghost Whisperer,” “Strong Medicine,” and “The Jamie Foxx Show.”
